Born and raised in Athens, Greece, dPen’s lifelong affair with music ignited at a young age, setting the stage for an extraordinary journey through the realms of sound. A gifted saxophonist and flutist, dPen’s musical talents provided a unique backdrop to his electronic music voyage. He embarked on his DJ odyssey at the tender age of 15, captivating audiences at teen parties. By the age of 21, his reputation as one of Greece’s foremost DJs had solidified, with electrifying performances across Athens’ vibrant nightlife.
However, dPen’s path was destined for exceptional heights. His relentless pursuit of sonic perfection led him to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he pursued a diploma in sound engineering and audio mastering. Here, he honed his craft, ultimately earning a professional certification with an A+ distinction, solidifying his status as a true audio virtuoso.
Mastering the “dark art” of audio became his forte. With a unique approach that treats sound as a living, breathing entity, dPen embraces the power of analog equipment (tubes, transistors, and amplifiers) to breathe life, depth, and character into music like never before.
Today, dPen stands as a master of true analog mastering, delivering transformative sonic experiences that transcend the digital realm. His expertise spans a diverse range of genres, from Progressive House to Techno, Deep House to Trance, infusing each track with its unique essence.
As the chief mastering engineer behind Hernan Cattaneo’s iconic Sudbeat Recordings since 2012, he’s left an indelible mark on over 700 tracks, that have conquered the dance floors in all over the world.
